Journey Through Song

Unite through the celebration of music in this place together, and discover connection and self-expression.

2023 Festival: Friday 7 July - Sunday 9 July

Thank you for being a part of our successful Pemulwuy festival return in 2023

Brisbane was abuzz with the sound of male voices in July as boys and men from around the country came to celebrate singing. The guest and host choirs presented concerts across the weekend and our four guest conductors worked their magic with the Treble, Youth and Adult Strands.

Audiences loved the performances and the sense of community was amazing. It was so exciting to experience the joy and enthusiasm of all of the choristers.

Voices of Birralee would like to thank all those who came to be participants in the festival. Thank you to all of the conductors and tutors who prepared the singers and to the fantastic team of volunteers and staff who helped deliver this spectacular festival.

To relive moments from the finale concert please check out the playlist on our Voices of Birralee channel on youtube.

Till next time our choral journeys bring us together stay well and sing on!

TREBLE STRAND

For boys aged 10 -14 with unchanged voices. Come and sing with other boys who love to sing and entertain audiences. Bring your mates from school or your community choir or if you don't sing anywhere else, come and meet others who love singing like you do. Register as an individual HERE.

YOUTH STRAND

For secondary school students with changed voices. There is something dynamic and exciting about a large group of teenage boys singing together. Perhaps there are only a couple of guys in your school choir or only you, so come and see what it is like to sing in a large group of changed voice lads. Register as an individual HERE.

ADULT STRAND

For any males older than secondary school age. You might have been singing for all of your life in choirs, operas, pubs or the car. Perhaps you haven't sung since being kicked out of choir in year 3. Now is your chance to prove that teacher wrong and lend your voice to the majestic sound of the adult male ensemble at Pemulwuy 2023. Register as an individual HERE.
